On October 29, 1993, the world-famous Dunes Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, was imploded to make way for the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. Built in 1955 at the corners of Flamingo Road and South Las Vegas Boulevard, the Dunes quickly became a hot spot for high rollers, movie stars, gangsters and international celebrities. The day after the hotel was imploded, photographer Art Nadler captured this poignant image of the hotel's once magnificent marquee as it laid broken amongst the debris. The original "Fallen Giant" photograph was beautifully printed on black and white paper with its shattered neon lights hand painted in colors that shown for so many decades along the Las Vegas Strip. This beautiful giclee print of the original is reproduced on archival watercolor paper and is signed and number by the photographer and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Image measures 14 by 7 inches with a surrounding 1/2 inch white border. Lot size of 500 prints.
