On Oct. 29, 1993, the would-famous Dunes Hotel
and Casino was imploded to make way for the Bellagio Hotel and
Casino. Built in
1955 at the corner of Flamingo Road and South Las Vegas Boulevard
in Las Vegas, the Dunes quickly became a hot spot for high rollers,
movie stars, gangsters and international celebrities. The day after
it was imploded, Art Nadler captured this poignant image of the
hotel's once magnificent marquee as it laid broken amongst the
debris. "Fallen Giant" is beautifully printed in black
and white with its shattered neon lights hand painted in colors
shone and not shown for so many decades across the Las Vegas Strip.
